| So, I guess you should know that we did buy a house. We've been in it about 3 months now. It's awesome. House living is about 10k times better than apartment living. We have some stuff to do, like put up some fencing (so we can get a dog :-/), Fix the flashing around the chimney, re-mortar the fire box, etc., but they're getting there.
Also, I quit my job at FlightSafety with full expectation that if I didn't quit soon, I was going to be laid off by Dec. or Jan. So, now I have a new job at a small business called ICSI. Comically, I do nearly the exact same thing I did at FlightSafety except I do it on real airplanes now. Interestingly enough, I lucked into the fact that we get Columbus Day off at ICSI. So, I'm at home right now, being paid. Excellent.
Mercy and I have been married for over 8 months now. (I guess that should lay to rest any claims that the quick planning of the wedding was because it was a shotgun wedding...) It's pretty good. We spent the weekend at my parents cabin on the lake. Did some walking down to the water, picked up some driftwood for some house decorating, and mostly just didn't do anything. That place is the best place to not do anything.
We recently purchased an album that is life changingly good. Called Act II: The Father of Death by The Protomen, it is the prelude act to the previously published (now retroactively named) Act I. Acts of what you might say? Acts of a Rock Opera based on Megaman's story. I know what you're thinking. How stupid, nerdy, hoky, etc. You think that only because you are wrong and you've yet to listen to it.
I guess that's about all I have to report. Finally, I'd like to dedicate this posting to a few friends of mine who have passed away in the last couple months. Here's to you BB, Gary, and Cory. Memory eternal.

| So, it's been a while. You'd think I never visit this place anymore, but on the contrary, I actually make multiple visits a day. Just don't write much.
That said:
So, we're getting a house. Probably closing within 1.5 weeks. We'll be moving at the endish of July. That's good.
Things are going okay at work. I have very little to do right now, but whatever. I'm writing a calculator program. It's much much more complicated than I thought it was going to be, but that's good because it takes up time.
Being married is good. You should probably do it if you're thinking about it. Or you should go into the monastic life.
Man, I'm just not very talkative. Maybe if there's something anyone wants covered they could leave a comment and ask.

| I've rarely seen snow like this, and it's nearly April.

| So, I watched the inauguration yesterday. It was pretty good. Except for all the damn commentary (and Aretha Franklin...). I don't know how many times the people at ABC had to point out that Obama is black. Now, yes, I realize that he's the first black president. That's fine, but do I have to hear about it every 5 minutes. It's like ABC news has never seen a black person before. Every time they could fit it in, they mentioned he was black. It's so amazing to me how we can hear speeches that say things like "judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character", and then listen to garbage like the people on TV mentioning race at every possible turn.
Did anyone every think that Barack Obama might actually want to be "The President of The United States" and not necessarily "The Black President of The United States"? Something tells me that the things going through his mind right now aren't "now what can I do, now that I, a black man, am President?" He's probably more along the lines of "no what can I do, now that I am President." It's like all those stupid white people could think about was that he's black, and they would almost have you believe that that's all he can think about, too! Guess what! I bet someone capable of being elected President of The United States can think about something other than race.
It reminds me of a couple years ago when a black guy named Bill Lester became the first black man to race in a NASCAR Cup event in 20 years. The media (given sports media) has a heyday with it. They were just soaked in, "A black guy, A black guy, A black guy, A black guy, A black guy, A black guy, A black guy!" Then before the race, they caught up with him before he got into his car and asked him how it felt to be the first black man in a Cup race in 20 years, and his response was more or less: I don't really care. I am a race car driver. I'm not trying to prove anything other than that I'm a good race car driver.
Hey media, you're racist!
